Senior Mechanical Engineer

Overview

In this Senior Mechanical Engineer role, you will contribute to the design and delivery of technically challenging marine engineering projects. You’ll own technical quality, guide engineers and designers, and coordinate multi-discipline activities to drive project success.

You will review and develop technical documentation and help shape engineering processes and best practices. You’ll work within an established technical team, with scope to take ownership of work and influence broader business development.

This is a junior-to-senior leadership opportunity in a shipyard/ vessel-design environment with real impact on project outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop engineering projects from concept through delivery
• Ensure technical quality of your work and deliverables
• Provide technical guidance to engineers and designers
• Coordinate engineering activities and contribute to project delivery
• Review and develop technical documentation and design information
• Support engineering processes, standards, and best practices
• Contribute to innovation, continuous improvement, and new technical solutions
• Collaborate with engineers across multiple disciplines

Key requirements

• Strong technical problem-solving skills and sound engineering judgement
• Experience on complex engineering design projects
• Good understanding of design processes and project delivery
• Ability to manage own workload, priorities, and deadlines
• Strong communication and coordination skills
• Experience reviewing technical work and mentoring less experienced engineers
