Senior Mechanical Engineer - Waste & Generation

Overview

In this Senior Mechanical Engineer role, you contribute to a diverse portfolio of energy projects within Stantec’s Waste & Generation team, spanning EfW facilities, district heating, hydrogen and gasification schemes.

You will guide mechanical design across the full project lifecycle, from feasibility to installation, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver reliable, sustainable energy solutions. This position offers meaningful impact as you help communities transition to low-carbon energy at scale.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site surveys and technical investigations
• Develop mechanical designs, specifications and project-wide solutions
• Support the production of drawings, 3D models, P&IDs, schedules and reports
• Prepare specifications and scoping documents for construction packages
• Review vendor designs and monitor progress

Key requirements

• Experienced Mechanical Design Engineer
• Background in energy, power or process-plant sectors
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems (steam, piping, hydrogen, biomass or EfW technologies)
• Chartership status ideally or progress towards it encouraged
