Service Director - Economy, Property & Regeneration North East England | Hybrid Working £700 - £1,000 per day We are supporting a leading local authority in the North East in appointing an experienced Interim Service Director - Economy, Property & Regeneration.
This is a high-profile leadership opportunity for a strategic and commercially minded public sector leader to drive economic growth, regeneration, inward investment, asset management, and business development across a diverse portfolio.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping place-based growth strategies and delivering major regeneration and investment programmes. Key Responsibilities of the Service Director of Economy, Property and Regeneration: Lead the delivery of economic growth, regeneration, property, and inward investment strategies.
Drive business growth initiatives and develop strong relationships with businesses, investors, and regional stakeholders. Oversee the management, modernisation, and strategic development of significant property and land assets.
Secure external funding opportunities and maximise investment into regeneration and economic development projects. Lead major programmes and capital projects that support employment, business growth, and community prosperity.
Provide strategic advice to senior elected members, executive leadership teams, and key external partners. The Successful Service Director of Economy, Property and Regeneration will have: Significant senior leadership experience within local government or a related public sector environment.
A strong track record in regeneration, economic development, property, growth, or investment. Extensive programme and project management experience. Proven success in stakeholder engagement, partnership working, and influencing at a senior level.
Strong commercial awareness and strategic thinking capabilities. Experience working with elected members, government agencies, businesses, and regional partners.
