Software Engineer

Overview

In this role you will design and build the core capabilities of a next-generation AI-powered Production Intelligence platform. You’ll blend Site Reliability Engineering practices with agentic AI to improve how teams monitor, diagnose, and auto-remediate global SaaS infrastructure.

You’ll work across distributed systems at scale, shaping reliable, scalable software and AI-assisted capabilities. This position offers impact at the intersection of observability, automation, and AI within Cisco’s Collaboration Technology Group.

You will partner with cross-functional teams to drive reliability and engineering excellence.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement high-resilience software for AI-assisted observability, automated incident response, and self-healing cloud infrastructure
• Develop AI agents, MCP integrations, and evaluation pipelines for automated operational decision support
• Build ingestion and correlation pipelines for logs, metrics, traces, change events, and runbooks to improve MTTD/MTTR
• Create proactive anomaly detection and HITL remediation workflows with safety and security guardrails
• Define SLIs/SLOs, manage error budgets, and lead post-incident reviews
• Mentor mid-level and junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and promote engineering best practices
• Coordinate with multiple teams to translate production needs into reliable software and AI capabilities

Key requirements

• Experience as a Senior/Lead SRE or Software Engineer delivering distributed, high-availability SaaS at scale
• Strong programming in Python, Go, Java, or C++, with microservices and API design experience
• Deep experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and large-scale multi-cluster orchestration
• Proven SRE background: SLI/SLO design, observability platforms, incident management, and RCA automation
