Welding Coordinator

Overview

As Welding Coordinator at Framatome UK, you will oversee welding processes and documentation across Avonmouth facilities, ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. You will coordinate welding activities, maintain weld books and qualifications, and support the production team with technique deployment. Responsibilities

• Coordinate welding operations and ensure access to necessary information before work
• Manage weld books, WPQR/WPS, and welder qualifications
• Provide technical welding guidance to personnel and attend project meetings
• Support training and certification of welding staff and conduct welding tests
• Maintain welding documentation and project weld books; create/update work instructions
• Lead improvement projects and contribute to Design Reviews and Manufacturing Readiness Reviews
• Participate in audits of welding documents and NCR processes
• Ensure compliance with ISO 3834, Framatome IMS, and customer specifications

Key requirements

• >5 years of relevant welding/fabrication experience
• CSWIP 3.1 or equivalent
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in engineering or related subject
• Strong knowledge of welding standards (EN 1090, ISO 3834) and qualification procedures (ISO 15614, 15609, 9606, 14732)
• Experience with NDT processes and highly regulated/nuclear environments
• Ability to work in a team and independently with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
