Straw@hays.comYour new company A well-established and growing independent accountancy firm based in Lancashire is seeking an experienced Audit Director (Responsible Individual) to support the continued development of its audit practice.
The firm has a strong regional reputation, a loyal client base across SMEs, owner‐managed businesses and groups, and a clear strategy for sustainable growth while maintaining high audit quality. Your new roleAs Audit Director and Responsible Individual, you will take overall responsibility for the firm's audit function, playing a key role in client delivery, leadership and strategic growth.
You will work closely with the Partner group while retaining autonomy over the audit department.
Key responsibilities will include
Acting as Responsible Individual (RI) for statutory audits under UK regulationLeading, managing and developing a growing audit teamOverseeing audit quality, methodology and compliance with ISAs and regulatory standardsManaging a varied portfolio of audit clients, primarily SMEs and owner‐managed businessesSupporting business development and identifying opportunities to grow the audit portfolioMaintaining strong client relationships and acting as a trusted adviserContributing to the firm's wider strategic and operational objectivesWhat you'll need to succeedACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent)Audit Responsible Individual (RI) status is essential.
