Negotiable Kent, England Permanent Civil Engineering Lead (Senior Civils Lead)Overview Our client is seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Lead to manage and deliver a range of civil engineering design projects while leading a small team.
This role is ideal for a senior engineer with strong technical expertise in drainage and infrastructure design, combined with leadership experience and client-facing capability. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage a small team of civil engineers and technicians Oversee the delivery of civil engineering designs across multiple projects Take responsibility for below ground drainage design, including: Drainage strategies Flood Risk Assessments (FRA)Su DS design Liaise with statutory authorities and external stakeholders Review and check design work to ensure quality and compliance Support project delivery from concept through to completion Represent the business in meetings with clients and third parties Requirements Essential Minimum 10 years' experience in civil engineering design Proven experience leading or managing a small team Strong knowledge of: Civil engineering design principles Below ground drainage systems Flood risk assessments and associated approvals Working with statutory authorities Excellent communication and client-facing skills Desirable Chartered Engineer (CEng) or close to achieving Chartership Experience in highway design and infrastructure projects Broad knowledge across all aspects of civil engineering design Candidate Profile Strong technical background with a hands-on approach Confident leader who can mentor and guide junior staff Commercially aware with good project management skills Flexible and pragmatic-able to take a "view" where needed (as per client culture)Additional Info The client is open-minded and may consider candidates who don't tick every box but demonstrate strong potential There are also opportunities within the business for graduate and senior structural engineers, if relevant referrals arise
